OOGENESIS


   Both the gonads play a dual role: (i) cytogenic, i.e., formation of gametes and endocrine, i.e., secretion of male and female sex hormones such as Testosterone in male and Oestrogen and Progesterone in females.
 The process of formation of mature as oogenesis from primordial mother cell is known as oogenesis. The sequence of events in oogenesis is outlined below.
